The La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine is renowned for its pleasing, modern design that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic appeal.

In Abbotsford, the GB5 can be found at Little Molli café, a sibling venue of bar and bistro Molli, both designed by Melbourne’s In Addition Studio.
Renowned for designing such iconic Australian hospitality and retail including Lune and July, In Addition Studio value the broad range of La Marzocco machine choices to suit each individual café space. With Little Molli, the GB5 was chosen to ensure consistent quality, and feature as the perfect centre piece on the coffee bar.

Director, Ana Ćalić McLean gave us more insight into the ideas and considerations made while curating the coffee space.

“A coffee bar is so important within design. A coffee-centric experience is what people really seek. Here at Little Molli, it’s a little bit unusual that it (GB5) is in and amongst the record player. It just feels like this beautiful object that was always supposed to be there as a part of the space.”

Named after the wife of second-generation leader of La Marzocco Giovanna Bambi, the GB5 exudes durability while maintaining a polished, professional look suitable for high-end cafes. Its ergonomic design includes user-friendly controls and an intuitive interface, allowing baristas to operate the machine with ease.

The dual boiler system not only enhances temperature stability but also enables simultaneous brewing and steaming, optimising workflow during peak hours. This feature and many others as trusted and tested components of the Linea PB, also makes it easier for technicians to perform service without the need for new parts inventories.
